This phenomenon is due to the high sea surface temperature, which is in this state due to the La Niña phenomenon, which concentrates all the atmospheric heat.
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO), highlighted in a report that this year, 2024, temperatures are expected above the average across the planet.

This phenomenon is due to the high sea surface temperature, which is in this state due to the La Niña phenomenon, which concentrates all the atmospheric heat.
On the other hand, the Niño phenomenon also converges to increase ocean temperatures, as it reverses the flow of heat from the ocean into the atmosphere.
“The sea surface temperature, far above normal in all regions, is forecast to remain outside the eastern equatorial Pacific. Therefore, temperatures can be expected to exceed the average in almost all regions of the planet,” says WMO.
According to WMO forecasts, global temperatures may reach record levels in the next five years.
Also, thanks to rising temperatures and thermal chill, the amount of rainfall has increased mainly in Latin America and Africa.
